Promises Prevail

Jenna finds a newborn baby on her doorstep and decides to keep it. A widow, she needs a husband to help her keep the child. The man who offers is Clint McKinnely. Clint is in search of a wife and decides that Jenna would make him a wonderful wife. He proposes and she accepts, especially since it means she can keep the child.

Jenna has had a hard life. Her marriage was a nasty affair where she suffered terribly at her husband’s hands. The child she finds gives her hope and someone to love. Clint has always been attracted to Jenna. He stayed away from her, since she was married, but that is no longer a problem. Clint is a man’s man, an alpha male to the core. When he loves, he loves deeply and passionately. He is more than able to protect what is his. Clint has to gain Jenna’s trust as her past marriage has left emotional and physical scars. It is a slow process as these two find their way together. The tenderness and patience that Clint shows Jenna was heart warming. The sexual heat emanating from them simmers and then boils over.

Promises Prevail is the third book in this series. Jenna and Clint are fully realized characters – they are the central core of the book. It was a wonderful adventure as we watch two injured characters heal themselves and each other. Promises Prevail was an enjoyable read from start to the end. It brought tears and laughter as we turned the pages – what more can you want from a book?!
