To The Edge

Jillian Kincaid is being stalked and death threats swirl around her. Born to wealthy parents, she is essentially the “princess” who has gotten everything she wanted in life. With a successful broadcasting career in hand, she is at the pinnacle of her success when someone wants to bring her down. Her father decides to hire someone to protect his daughter thus Nolan Garrett enters her life. Jillian is not at all pleased with this development, she was protected all her life and having another person trail after her is not what she wants. What she wants and need are two different issues as she will find out.

Jillian and Nolan are richly drawn characters. The reader understands where they are coming from and their reactions to the world around them. Jillian’s hard earned independence is at stake as she fights to stay in control of her life. Nolan is hired to do a job and he does his job well. His confidence has been shaken by the death of his associate but he will do everything in his power to keep Jillian alive. The emotional baggage Nolan carries from his past may affect his future and he must work through it to be with the woman he comes to love more than life. Jillian and Nolan are very likable characters. The emotional and physical connection they make slowly unfurls as the story progresses.

To The Edge was a riveting and exiting read. It is a terrific start to this new series by Ms. Gerard. The author was able to keep the suspense and cloak the identity of the attacker until the very end. Fast paced and action packed, the story takes flight and doesn’t land until the last page. This reader can’t wait until the next book, To The Limit, featuring Nolan’s sister, Eve comes out!
