The Mistress and the Mouse

Brian Abernathy, the heir of Abernathy Acquisitions, wants nothing to do with his family or his family’s fortune. Changing his name to Brian Alexander, Brian has met the love of his life, Morgan, and has become a successful landscape architect. For ten years Brian has kept his past life hidden from her and the people now close to him. But when he visits his mother Cheryl and sees the aftermath of spousal abuse, Brian confronts his father Jerry. Giving him ten days to seek professional help, Brian inadvertently drops one of Morgan’s business cards when leaving his father’s office. Finding the card of Morgan McFaye, a professional sex therapist, Jerry seeks her help in order to bridge the gap with his son. When Brian chooses to interact with his family again, he refuses help from Morgan and leaves her and their relationship.

After the break up with Brian, Morgan focuses more on her work. Receiving emails from Jerry Abernathy and not knowing the connection between father and son, Morgan takes Jerry as her client. Feeling the devastation of her break up, Morgan develops a relationship with Jerry.

Filled with diverse characters and an emotional plot, The Mistress and the Mouse is a sexually explicit, intense psychological romance. All the characters’ stories, main and secondary, intertwine with each other providing an interesting plot. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Giles developed her characters, they’re not your typical vanilla variety. These characters are emotional, sexual, conniving, manipulative, and down right dysfunctional. My favorite character is Morgan. She is your ultimate dominatrix and uses that power to help her clients. Morgan is intelligent, strong willed and yet fragile. The storyline is complex and branches out into secondary stories but still relates to Morgan and Brian. The sex is varied, frequent and scorching hot. Ms. Giles provides strong BDSM, multiple partners, same sex practices, self pleasuring, public humiliation, pain, violence and incest. I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Giles’ writing style. The atmosphere and the situations she creates for her characters are very descriptive. She brings the reader into the story through emotion felt towards each of the characters and the ambience of the setting. This ebook has opened my eyes to a wider variety of genres. It’s bold, fascinating and not for all readers. The Mistress and the Mouse is the ultimate erotic soap opera. Lady J, you rock!
