Property Rites: A Deed of Enslavement

Alasha's world is crashing around her, her mother the matriarch has died and her greedy stepfather has tricked her into signing indenture papers. Her stepfather allows his guards to use Alasha and then he sells her to the passing slave trading caravan. Alasha arrives at a slave market and she is sold to the highest bidder. Her life becomes a cycle of learning to please her masters and coming to terms with the fact that she actually gains pleasure from parts of the treatment she is subjected to. During this time she never gives up the goal of returning to the lands that her stepfather stole from her and regaining her heritage.

Property Rites: A Deed of Enslavement, by Han Li Thorn is a compelling novel that spans a young noble woman's fall from gentry to slave, innocent to sexual being. Her thoughts and feelings about everything are laid open and displayed for us. From the crack of the whip to the desire to be used, her thoughts are realistic and entertaining all at the same time. The battle she fights within herself rings wonderfully true to human nature. The descriptions and scenes are very detailed and wonderfully written. This novel is very graphic in places and may be to too extreme for some readers, but had me just enthralled. I had a hard time putting this book aside. I have added this author to my to be read list and hope to see more from her soon.
