Primitive Passion

Sylvia Radcliff came to Mexico to visit a pen pal. When the taxi ride from the airport turns into a nightmare and sees Sylvia deposited on the side of the rode with no money and no idea of where she is at, her vacation becomes grim. Her outlook shortly brightens when she is rescued by an enigmatic stranger, Heath Williams. However, her hero outlines stipulations of his own for her rescue, namely her complete obedience for three days. Can this modern New York woman give up control to Heath in order to make it out of Mexico? Will she even want to leave Mexico when Heath’s timeline has expired?

Primitive Passion is aptly named. In this work, Shara Lanel brings a modern woman to the jungles of Mexico to a man that can’t abide civilization. Together they embark on a sensual journey that brings out the primitive passion in them both. The majority of the plot deals with the sexual intensity of their relationship. Yet the author does take time to show how they are beginning to develop deeper feelings for each other. The reader is aware that Heath has an illness that has cut him off from the world, but they are not sure how this will play out in a future between him and Sylvia. For a relatively short story, that only spans a few days in the lives of the characters, the reader is offered quite a bit of back story along with events in the present. When Sylvia’s three days have ended, Ms. Lanel offers an ending that is romantic and consistent with the characters she has created.
