Carol McKenzie has created an erotic and touching tale. She manages to deal with each controversy that comes up in a believable and well thought out manner that allows the story to flow along to its wonderful conclusion. She incorporates many elements not usually found in a short story – from adventure to romance to fighting to making up – and makes it all work without the feeling of being rushed from scene to scene that you often get in stories of this length.

Ms. McKenzie presents new and interesting ways of looking at and explaining vampires and the lore that surrounds them, so she gets bonus points! It’s very easy to stay within the boundaries and follow the norms set for vampire romances - which are wonderful - but she has found a way to bring something new to the table and I love it.
