Masters of the Air

Michael Ryan just wants a simple life: a family that he can count on, children, a home, all of the same things that every man wants. Why he is having such a hard time finding it?

Michael has always loved flying. When he meets Jacob Stimpson in a clearing one evening, he doesn't know how much it will change his life. Jacob talks him into going into business with him and Michael sees this as his way to finally get what he wants. They do everything from flying in liquor from Mexico during prohibition to running a mainstream airline.

Rachel is Michael's granddaughter. She is very much like her grandfather and finds herself following in his footsteps without knowing why. She will search for answers, but is she really ready for what she finds?

Will Michael succeed in finding what he yearns for? What kind of legacy will he leave behind for his granddaughter, Rachel? Will Rachel be able to learn that you can't find your happiness in others if you can't find it in yourself?

This is a two-part novel. The first part is Michael's life and the second part is about his granddaughter, Rachel, and how she deals with the choices that he has made.

Ms. Tash has created a moving story of a man who is very troubled. He searches for what he thinks that he wants, but, as you read more about him, you begin to wonder if he needs what he is looking for. As that old saying goes: “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.”

You are able to see the similarities between Rachel and Michael, but still see them as individuals. The emotions that they feel are very real and that makes this a wonderful story to read. The characters in this novel are strong and well written; they are multi-faceted and compelling. This story will suck you in and drag you through the ringer, but you'll be glad for the experience.
