Mr. Carpenter and Ms. Kelly’s captivating writing kept me engrossed in this novel from the beginning until the very end. Lissa and Steve both are running away from their past, on a new quest that is different from their supposed normal life. Although their sizzling lovemaking affair happens early on, their emotional affair builds more carefully throughout the story. I found myself deeply entangled in Lissa and Steve’s wild adventure. There were some funny moments, truly touching moments that played on my emotions and there were times where I found myself blushing. I am proud to bestow Detour with 5 blazing hot Angels.
