Artist’s apprentice Lucy Raymond is a woman oppressed by the social constraints of her day. She is forced to masquerade as a castrado, a sexless young man, to protect her virtue. Lucy is content with her life for the most part, but she yearns for a man and the man she wants is David.

Vido Buonarotti happens upon Lucy as she is overcome with desire for David. She is a woman ripe for the picking. She sees flashes of David in Vido, but how can this be?

Heart of Stone sets forth an intriguing and unique premise; it fairly scorches the eyes with its steamy, sultry eroticism. Annice Dare weaves a tale of passion and obsession, with rich imagery and an interesting twist. This wonderful story shows that love really can melt a Heart of Stone.
