Good Night, Gracie
Because of road expansion the building that houses the bookstore “Between the Covers” will be torn down. After the appeal to the Historical Society to have the building declared a national landmark is rejected, Gracie Dawson knows that she will have to use the money that she has saved for law school to move the books and find a new location for the store. Her aunt opened the bookstore over twenty years ago and even though her aunt is now gone and Gracie hates working there, she simply can’t bear the thought of getting rid of her aunt’s legacy. Although, her dreams of law school are shattered there is one dream that Gracie is finally going to pursue. At her upcoming ten year reunion she is going to seduce her best friend Gilbert Holloway. They have not seen each other in ten years but correspond almost daily by e-mail and lately Gracie has noticed a change in the tone of the letters and decides that the reunion will be the perfect time and place to explore those changes.
Zach Maddox feels like the lowest piece of slime on Earth and knows that if Gracie ever finds out that HE is the one she has been e-mailing the past few months instead of Gilbert he’ll be dead slime. It started out simply as part of the investigation to help him find Gilbert after he disappeared, but quickly turned into more. He realizes that he is becoming obsessed with a woman that he has never even met and when the opportunity presents itself to meet her, there is no way he is going to pass.
Good Night, Gracie is a perfect combination of sweet and sexy. I was really intrigued as to how the whole mistaken identity thing was going to play out and Kristin Gabriel handled it with class and style. Zach is the type of guy that you can’t help but fall in love with, and I think there is a part in all of us who can identify with Gracie on several levels. This is one of the last four Harlequin Temptations that will be available in North America and I love the way all four of the stories are happening simultaneously with just enough interaction between characters of the four books to have you dying to read the rest of the series. Ms. Gabriel, congratulations on a book well written and thank you for your part in sending this line out with class and style.
