Never Say Never
Waitress Tess Applegate can’t decide if she should rank her day as the worst or the best day of her life. She has just found out the bar where she has worked for the past year is closing so she is going to be out of a job, and that is bad. Her favorite customer, Henry Bartholomew, has just left her the tip of a lifetime in the form of a blue duffel bag full of VERY large bills, which should be good. The sexiest man she has ever laid eyes on has just strolled into the bar and can’t seem to take his eyes off of her, and that is good. At least it would be good if he wasn’t the poster child for the life that she left behind and swore never to get caught up in again.
Evan Bartholomew can’t believe that his uncle Henry actually had him locked out of the corporate offices of Bartholomew’s Best Department Store. There is so much that he needs to be doing and Henry wants him to take a VACATION. Just because Henry takes off for parts unknown every year doesn’t mean that he has to do the same. When he ends up in a quaint neighborhood bar while trying to track Henry down and discovers the luscious Tess he decides that a vacation might not be such a bad idea after all.
Never Say Never was an absolutely adorable book. It was funny and sweet and throughout the entire book the sexual tension builds and builds and builds. I love the differences in Evan and Tess, the banter between them and the sassiness of Tess. As with the other three books that end the Temptation line, this one embodies the spirit that Temptation has been; fun, sassy and just a little bit naughty. Great job Ms. MacAllister.
