Ready

His plan was simple; go to Seattle and bring Lise Barton home to Texas for Thanksgiving. His baby sister wanted it so he would see that it happened. He knew there was tension between him and Lise but he never dreamed that she would greet him by trying to bash his head in with a fireplace poker. It’s very obvious that something is drastically wrong and when Joshua Watts learns that Lise is being stalked he is furious both with the authorities who have refused to take the threats seriously and with the person responsible for putting that look of terror on the face of the woman that he has been unable to get out of his mind. Nobody messes with the people that Joshua cares about and as hard as it is for him to admit he does care about Lise.

Lise Barton is a best selling author of action adventure books. Her stories are known for their kick-ass heroines and the fact that this jerk has turned her into a frightened cowering woman just really pisses her off. She knows that working with and living with Joshua while he attempts to find this guy is dangerous for her peace of mind, not to mention her libido, but she also knows that if anybody can get him Joshua can. She is tired of living in fear but is soon wondering if the threat that Joshua poses to her heart is bigger than the one the stalker poses to her life.

Absolutely amazing is the best way to describe this book. The plot is spellbinding, the characters are captivating and the sexual tension between Joshua and Lise is . . . oh my is it getting hot in here or is it just me? There is nothing and I mean absolutely NOTHING that I didn’t love about this story. Oh, and did I mention that Joshua is a mercenary who has two really great friends who help him in his plans to get Lise’s stalker? Ms. Monroe, the tease *g*, lets us get to know them fairly well in Ready and even introduces the next couple in this trilogy enough that I’m already begging for their story. Lock the doors, take the phone off the hook and put a “busy” sign beside your instant message name because once you start this book you won’t want to put it down. Ready is a HIGHLY recommended read.
