The Dark Lord: Love Bites

The Dark Lord: Love Bites is the sequel to The Dark Lord: Soul Searches – Tarot: Queen of Pentacles and must be read in order.

At the end of The Dark Lord: Soul Searches – Tarot: Queen of Pentacles we have heard the story of Fayley and her trip to the depths of the Wretches. Now we hear The Dark Lord’s story in The Dark Lord: Love Bites.

The Dark Lord has been cursed by The Fates because of his love for his soul mate. Doomed to the existence of a vampire, never seeing the sun, needing to drink blood, and having a lust that cannot be slaked; The Dark Lord has chosen to amass an army of the scourge of Ziadore. His entire being is focused on thwarting The Fates and ruining their plans, whatever they may be. Over and over again, he meets his soul mate only to have her torn from him by death. By the time he has found and lost her, almost a thousand years have past and he does not know if he can stand finding and losing her again.

This is a wonderful continuation of the story began in The Dark Lord: Soul Searches – Tarot: Queen of Pentacles. Ms. Weldon paints a poignant picture of loss and despair that reaches in and twists your heart. I had to explain to my husband a few times that I was reading a sad book and that it wasn’t him making me cry. The character development was great and was woven into the storyline very well. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by Carys Weldon.
