Bronzequest
King Warren of Serendonia had injured his thigh while helping his people with the shearing of the sheep. Despite using ever means possible, King Warren’s wound refused to heal. He, along with his land, became ill. Searching and finding the cure in his library, King Warren summoned his three unmarried adult children and informed them of the cure. There are three magical objects hidden within a parallel and their own worlds. Only in the time of need by a courageous, loyal, honorable individual with a pure heart will they be able to collect these objects for its healing powers. King Warren’s children all agreed to go on a quest to retrieve the objects to heal both their father and their land.
Coming back from her quest with a silver platter, Princess Riva, the oldest of the siblings, retrieved the first of the magical objects. Now Prince John must go on his quest to seek and retrieve the second object, the bronze lance. But the night before his journey, Prince John dreams of a woman who claims to be his destiny. But she is not what she seems. If he is the chosen one, Prince Johns’ quest is to not only retrieve the lance but to free her as well.
Bronzequest is an entertaining story by Katherine Kingston that will be sure to please her fans. Prince John has lived a sheltered and privileged life. During training sessions, the soldiers seem to hold back when practicing to ensure the safety of their prince. Going on this quest for the bronze lance will not only save his father but will provide the self confidence he needs to one day make him a good leader. Then there is the mysterious woman in his dreams. He fears her and yet he is physically attracted to her. Prince John doesn’t quite know what to make of her. She comes to him in an angelic and a wicked form. I enjoyed the mysterious ambience of the story. Both the characters and the atmosphere are filled with mystery. The long difficult journey he takes possesses challenges, riddles and a fire breathing dragon. The author’s meticulous attention to detail brings the story to life, yet it tends to be a bit overwhelming at times. Bronzequest is the second installment of the Glimmer Quest Series and can stand alone. Ms Kingston has written a well crafted story. I look forward to reading Lia’s story.
