Fallen Gods - Lotus Blooming

Athena Lotus Cooke was not having a good day – first she lost her job and now a mystical being keeps invading her space. The being does not frighten Thena, since she herself is a witch. Calling the spirit out, Thena is shocked to find herself both comforted by and attracted to the being. When her mother and grandmother call her home to help them with a problem, Priapus the being that keeps invading her space, follows to help protect her from the demons that have overtaken the town. While home Thena must battle an evil she cannot fathom and deal with the reality of who her father is. Falling in love with a god is a little more than she can handle right now, but Priapus nor her feelings for him are going away.

Priapus, the god of fertility, has been chosen to return to Earth to battle demons threatening to overtake Earth. He has never encountered a mortal that intrigues him as much as Athena Cooke. There is something about her that calls to him. Priapus follows Thena when she travels to visit her mother and grandmother and can see that demons are a lurking presence in the small town. As Thena prepares herself to battle evil, Priapus resolves to stand by her side and help anyway that he can. When emotional upheavals derail Thena, Priapus is there to comfort her. He and Thena are meant to be together – he just has to convince her of that.

Lorie O’Clare’s Lotus Blooming is a wonderful book that I could not put down. Lotus Blooming is the third book in the Fallen God series. The first two are Tainted Purity and Jaded Prey. You do not have to read the first two titles in the series to follow the storyline, however this is a wonderful series that just gets better with each book. The author has created awesome characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. The connection – emotional and physical – between Thena and Priapus is intense, as the characters must face the obstacles before them.
