My Immortal Knight: Uncovering Navarro

As a reporter, Sidney P. Coffey can sniff out a good story from a mile away. So when three genetic scientists are gruesomely murdered, she knows something's up. Something involving vampires. Using her connection with Detective Moses Brown - a friend and sometime sex buddy, as well as the man who opened her eyes to vampire existence - she ferrets out some information that leads to Master Navarro. A zany attempt at sneaking onto his estate lands Sidney in his study half naked, where Navarro's presence ignites curiosity, fear and desire. She knows Navarro is the key to this story but can she resist his dominate personality long enough to uncover it?

Navarro is an ancient and powerful vampire. Because he once killed someone he loved when he was first turned, he restrains the vampire beast within himself and has therefore become bored and even predictable. His first glimpse of Sidney is when she's cold, wet and topless…and his interest is peaked. He likes her strength of will but thinks she's a danger to herself and others, so he decides to keep her as his “houseguest” until he can discover who is behind the murders. And since she's the first woman in decades to rouse his interest, he also decides to seduce Sidney, keeping it strictly sexual. But Sidney has other ideas about a lot of things.

Ms. Devlin's Uncovering Navarro is absolutely fabulous. Although it's the fifth in the My Immortal Knight series, it can be read alone with no difficulties. The plot is fast paced and easy to follow, drawing the reader in and keeping you captivated the entire time. As for the characters, you'll enjoy getting to know them. At first, Sidney seems like one of the guys. She takes her pleasure where she finds it, but with a clear understanding of no emotional strings attached. Yet despite that, she's still a likeable character. She's sexy, fun and just a little bit crazy when it comes to her job. She'll make you want to grab her and shake some sense into her! As she and Navarro develop a relationship, she begins to understand some things about herself and her past views on sex and love. As for Navarro, can you say “Yummy”? He's the ultimate alpha male - strong, sexy and dominant. Because of his past, he is continuously battling the beast within himself. He's held himself apart from others for fear of hurting them, but Sidney works her way under his defenses. Their sexual encounters are scorching, so keep the ice water handy. Uncovering Navarro is a keeper and definitely a Recommended Read. Enjoy!
