Why Me?

Cassie Majors thought she had left the craziness behind when she gave up her high-powered job as a lawyer to start a house cleaning business. But lately she’s been hearing voices, well one voice, and it keeps telling her about Art and Lida and danger. Cassie eventually discovers that the voice she hears is Wynn Harmon’s, one of her clients, and Art is a leading contender for the presidential primary. When she realizes that she may be in danger, Cassie must decide if she will help Wynn warn Art. Wynn Harmon’s unusual life has prepared him for some of the dangers associated with assisting a powerful man with powerful enemies. But nothing has prepared him for Cassie Majors. Wynn originally uses her because she is receptive to his thoughts. But as their relationship grows, he realizes that she herself also has a relatively strong psychic ability and that he is strongly attracted to her. They must work together and use their special abilities to try and stop one of Wynn’s old rivals, a man with frightening powers of his own. Will they be able to contact Art in time? Will they survive? And will Cassie ask herself Why Me? before they complete their mission?

Why Me? is a delightfully delicious story about passion and politics. Through a series of simple events, Cassie and Wynn meet and develop a relationship that surpasses anything either of them could imagine. Cassie fears commitment, but at the same time, she wants someone to love and care for her. Wynn, on the other hand, has insecurities revolving around his psychic abilities and can’t imagine anyone loving him for him. The sexual tension builds as each fight their feelings. When they do finally have sex, their ability to read each other’s thoughts made for some very interesting and intense sex scenes. This fast paced plot will keep you turning pages in order to get to the end where you’ll continually be surprised by the different events. You’ll be on the edge of your seat with the suspenseful plot twists. Ms. Harte does a wonderful job combining the heart pounding suspense with a poignant love story.
