    Quirky Question of the Month

Do you find it a bit unnerving doctors call what they do practice?

Yeah, very. Although I find it even more unnerving that with me being their guinea pig after all these years, they have yet to achieve "practice makes perfect". ~ Titania Ladley

If I was unnerved, wouldn’t I be unable to feel anything? How do you unnerve someone anyway – one nerve at a time? ~ Nalini Singh

Dahlink, what are you talking about? My doctors call what they do perfect. ~ Lucinda Betts

Absolutely! Lawyers too. I mean, these people expect us to believe they are professionals? hrmph. I mean, really. ~ Bianca D'Arc

Hell yeah! Being a chronically ill person, it is safe to say most doctors don’t know what the *bleep* they are doing. I always get leery when I go to a doctor who has to run to a book for an answer. Sh**. *I* could do that! ~ Jacquelyn Frank

Absolutely! And I'm done being "patient" about it. ~ Rene Lyons

Hell, never thought about it before. Thanks a lot! LOL. ~ Ruby Storm

Depends on how young and cute the doctor is! After all, if he’s really adorable, he can practice and practice and practice on me all he likes! ~ Jade Lee

Lawyers call it practice too. Wonder how long it takes before they get it right? ~ Charlotte Boyett-Compo

Yes, much so. As a hamster on the wheel of medicine, I can say the word aptly describes their work. ~ Kally Jo Surbeck

Actually, doctors frighten me more than any other profession, outside of perhaps the banking profession. : ) ~ Karen Kay

I once had a doctor tell me he thought I should take my son to see a doctor. Duh, what were all those certificates on his wall that proclaimed him to be an MD??? Hmmmm.... Maybe he was just practicing??? ~ Karen Kelley

I do. I wonder, who are they practicing on, and why haven't they gotten it right yet? ~ Mary Winter

Only when they have a scalpel doing it. ~ Mechele Armstrong

Absolutely. I'd much prefer they got it right before they got to me. This is why I never consult a very old doc (if he's still practicing at his age, when is he going to master his profession?). The ones right out of school are the best. I know up front they're less experienced than I am and treat them accordingly. But then I generally tell them precisely why I'm there and what I think they should do, unlike my great-grandfather, who'd go into the exam room and say, "Well, doc, I got a leg here." When the doctor responded, "Tell me what the problem is," he'd snap, "You tell me, you're the doctor!" :eyeroll:~ Liddy Midnight

Oh yeah...you'd think that one day they would get it right the first time! ~ Maggie Nash

I'd find it more unnerving if they called it experimental sorcery. ~ Michelle M. Pillow

When doing a vasectomy they better not miss. ~ S.L. Carpenter

Only if they're holding my spleen at the time. ~ Sahara Kelly

Reader Question and Answers from March

What takes romance to the erotica level in your mind?
Two people hooking up is simply sex, but when two people have strong emotions invested in each other and derive pleasure from giving pleasure to that other person, then it moves beyond just having sex into something erotic. A romance with a isolated sex scene is not erotica, but when the romance is told in such a way where in every scene all the senses are activated and emotions are engaged leading towards a climatic love scene that is erotica. - Sue Ahn
Once the romance writing becomes more explicit, I believe it is erotica. - Rhonda Barnes
