Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Doesn't mascara come in those long, suggestively shaped tubes? If you're going to put it that close to your face, you'd better be prepared to put it in your mouth. ~ Lucinda Betts

Come on-be honest-do we ever shut our mouths for anything? Why should putting on make up be any different? ~ Jade Lee

Do we do ANYTHING with our mouths closed? ~ Sahara Kelly

Are they putting mascara on their teeth? Ew. I put mine on my lashes and I keep my mouth closed while doing it. ~ Jenna Leigh

Cause if they close their mouths, the Mascara would dry out and not apply right. ~ Savannah Black

How are we supposed to curse at the chunks and the dreaded raccoon eyes with our mouths closed? ~ Kimber Chin

I DID IT! I kept my mouth closed and put on mascara. Of course, the mascara is now all over my face. ~ Allison Knight

We keep our mouths open to help keep our eyes open. Everybody knows that. ~ Annette Blair

This is scary. Have you installed a camera in my bathroom? ~ Jordan Dane

Physics. An open mouth assures just the right amount of balance and weight applied. Yep, that's my answer and I'm sticking to it. ~ Ciara Gold

~ Reader Question & Answers from August ~

If you could ask any published author a question, who would you choose and what question would you ask?

I would ask Mycheal Black this question because she's one of my favorite writers: what one line in a rejection letter do you think should be outlawed because of its potential to discourage new writers? - ginglynn

Mycheal Black's answer - "It's not what we're looking for at this time." That line isn't helpful in the least when there's no further explanation of what the publisher IS looking for. Congratulations to ginglynn who won her choice of eBooks from Rosa Romance!

You have the chance to become a heroine from one of your favorite books, who would you become?

Gina Bliss from Surviving Demon Island. She kicks major butt, she’s gorgeous and she gets Derek. Who wouldn’t want to be her? ;-)

For readers that may not be aware of your Demon Hunters tell us what we can expect from your upcoming release Hunting the Demon?

Hunting the Demon is the second book in my Demon Hunters paranormal series. It’s filled with action, romance, adventure, romance, suspense, romance, mystery, romance, intrigue, romance, hot, steamy sex and lots of romance. Oh, and there are demons, too.

What exotic location could you see becoming your home away from home if cost wasn’t an issue?

Anyplace warm with white sand beaches and an ocean. And a good internet connection.

Wild Nights, your Berkley Heat release due out in September is a story about a female owner of a swingers’ club. How does your Berkley Heat titles vary from your mass market books?

The Berkley Heat titles are no-holds-barred erotic romance. The mass market titles are steamy hot and sexy, but don’t quite push the envelope with sexuality so much in the forefront as the Berkley Heat titles.

Fast forward five years from now, the books are all bestsellers, you’re a household name and life could never be better, what would be the next item on your must accomplish list?

I had to sit and ponder that scenario with a huge smile on my face for a moment. Oh yeah, if I could dream, wouldn’t that be a nice reality in five years? And if it did come true, I’d keep doing what I’m doing. I love being a writer. I wouldn’t see anything changing. Keep creating my stories and characters and hope that they connect with the readers.

Your life has been chosen for a new reality series. What name do you think best suits this new show?

The Bachelorette Who Has No Patience and No Intention of Marrying but Who Really Enjoys the Adoration of Guys.

On your blog you have what many would consider an invaluable photo. How cool was it to see your book Marked in the hands of a burly firefighter? Also is this an indicator of how diverse your fan base is?

I LOVED the picture Chris sent! He’s a fabulous fan who is man enough not to give a damn that he openly goes to his favorite romance authors’ signings AND reads the books. Yes, I would say it is a great indicator of my diverse fan base, especially with my new YA series. I hear from lots of different fans – everyone from thirteen year old girls to “grown ups” who say they’ve never read YA before.

Summer’s almost over but you have time for one great last vacation to send it off in style, where would you go if time or money was not an issue?

This is an easy choice – I’d go to New Zealand and take the dorky LORD OF THE RINGS tour(s). Plus, I’d get to visit my fabulous friend Nalini Singh! I’d probably also skip over to Australia and do a couple book signings between sightseeing and drinking and eating too much because I would love to meet the fans from Oz who are so loyal!

Divine by Blood is slated for a September 2007 release, please tell us about this story and if it’s connected to a series which should be read in advance of your new title.

DIVINE BY BLOOD is the completion of the DIVINE Partholon fantasy trilogy for LUNA. It began with DIVINE BY MISTAKE (originally published as GODDESS BY MISTAKE), then there was DIVINE BY CHOICE. DbB tells the story of the next generation, while also tying up loose ends for Shannon and Rhiannon. It can be read alone, but I’d recommend beginning with the other two books first. I love this trilogy – and adore the world I created in Partholon, and it was sad to complete this book. But you never know when I might return to that wonderful fantasy land…

You have the chance to have dinner with a famous entertainer. Who would you jump at the chance to spend an evening with?

Oh, jeesh, this is a hard question. Ummm…The stank part of me (and that’s a pretty big part) is shrieking to pick Hugh Jackman. The author part of me (while still stank at least shows some sense sometimes) says that Nora Roberts is an “entertainer” so I’d pick her because 1) I respect her work so much and 2) she seems like she’d be a lot of fun.
