~ Quirky Question of the Month ~
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
I don't know, but did you see today's stock report? Helium was up. Feathers were down. Paper was stationary. Knives were up sharply. Pencils lost a few points. Hiking equipment was trailing. Elevators rose, while escalators continued a slow decline. Light switches were off. Mining equipment hit rock bottom. Diapers remained unchanged. Shipping lines stayed at an even keel. Balloon prices were inflated. And batteries exploded in an attempt to recharge the market. ~

As a fellow Hoosier I have to ask, are you a Bears or Colts fan?
Well, I don't watch a lot of football, but when I do, it's Colts all the way!
Your Moon series seems to be an ever evolving drama with intrigue, thrills and chills. Did you know after the first installment that it was only the beginning for the werewolf couple, Jason and Rose?
Oh yes. I couldn't fit all of their story into one book. So, I divided it into two. Then, I had an idea for more and that lead to the last installments. I haven't thought further about more adventures with Jason and Rose, but some of the secondary characters are begging for their own books.
As a passionate advocate of animals if you could change into one for a day what animal would you chose and why?
I think I would like to be like my characters and change into a wolf. That would be so awesome, to run wild and free as one of those majestic creatures. That, or a cat. I think it would be fun to have that I-don't-care-so-leave-me-alone attitude that cats seem to have, without having others think you strange.
The blurb for Hunter's Moon seems to show a raging storm ahead for the couple your readers have come to love. What can they expect in the world where danger is common place and love isn't so easy?
Just that. It's not easy and it's not a pretty path for Jason and Rose. They have had so many struggles in their lives, just like many real people do in today's world-though maybe not in the supernatural way my novels show. They love each other, this is true, but things have gotten out of hand. There is too much danger and too much stress. Things are coming to a breaking point. I hope my readers understand that Jason and Rose are in for a long hard road ahead-and I also hope they don't hate me for it! It gets better, I swear!
When looking back at all of the movies you've seen in 2007 which one is a must have on DVD?
The Brave One, with Jodie Foster. Oh, I loved that film. A friend and I went to see it when it was in theaters and I just fell in love with it. Excellent story and wonderful acting. I definitely want to buy it.

As a woman who's worked with tons of children, your own included tell our readers a "funniest childcare moment" you will never forget?
After eight years of daycare…to find one moment is tough. However, I do remember this one boy who used to enjoy washing his hair in the toilet. Yes, the toilet. We had to keep a close eye on him whenever the bathroom door was open. Picture this: the 'baby' room had a private bathroom where we had a changing table and cabinets for the smaller infants, and the toilet, of course, was for the older children. This one particular boy was about 18 months old, and full of the devil. I was in the bathroom changing a baby's diaper when he came in, looking to wash his hair. I couldn't take my hands off the infant, so I lifted my foot and shut the toilet seat down. Undeterred, the boy kept lifting the seat until I was forced to stand with one foot on the seat, and the other firmly planted to keep my balance until the diaper was changed. He pulled at my foot, but I was strong! Thinking I had him beaten, I relaxed…just long enough for him to spy the toilet paper roll. I had to watch in horror as he grabbed the end and took off running - decorating the room with paper. By the time I finished changing the diaper and reentering the baby room - it was too late. It looked like a Halloween prank. He was sitting in the corner with part of it, shoving it in his mouth and giggling. Ahh……..those were the days!
Lethal Memoirs in the latest book to grace your published list. What can readers expect from your current release?
This book took longer to complete than any other. However, it is also the one that taught me more about myself as an author. I learned to have patience, to outline, and to remember that I write because I love to write --- not because I have a deadline and it's needed to fill a schedule. That being said,
Lethal Memoirs is about an editor in a major publishing firm who has been hiding a painful secret from her past - only to have a manuscript cross her desk that explains in detail the events of what truly happened. Add in the fact that her brother has been arrested for murder, her mother is missing, and the Assistant DA is breathing down her neck - and you have my newest murder mystery. Of course, said ADA is also the man who makes her heart beat faster and tempts her to spill the truth about what happened and why her family is now a target.
The holidays are over, snow is falling and as you sit back and reminisce on 2007 what special moment comes to mind?
I am the biggest fan of Christmas! I decorate the first of November, I play music that early on, and tend to sit in front of my fake fire on DVD and just enjoy life. To pick one special moment? It's difficult because there are so many wonderful ones to choose from. Our children are all healthy, happy, and we have a tradition on Christmas Eve that involves going to church, then visiting my family for a 'casserole' party where we eat way too much - and then on to my husband's family for a get together where we eat way too much more! Oh, and wrapping presents and putting together "Santa" toys is a fun time too. Sorry - I warned you that I couldn't pick just one!
How did you come up with the idea that murder and mayhem can not only coexist in the world of romance but flourish as evident is your growing accolades?
This definitely isn't a 'new' thing for me. I've always loved mysteries, from the moment I first started to read. Adding the romance came after I got over my discomfort of writing love scenes (my mother was always my editor). I love the idea of having someone to 'root' for at the end of the book. I don't think it's a fitting end to have the hero and/or heroine to ride off into the sunset alone. What fun is there in that? I fall in love with my characters…and of course, there are those I create just to murder them. Yes, I have an evil side - so always carry chocolate when you're around me!! lol
We're all guilty of breaking New Year's resolutions, what resolution will you set this year that you're sure will still be on your list in 2009?
LOSING WEIGHT! Ugh! What a horrid thing to do to a person - to create food that is so succulent that it's near impossible to live without! Lol. I've been making this resolution since the birth of my oldest daughter, and she's six now. I do well, but keep falling off the wagon. I also make the resolution to write a best seller… but the way I see it - I still have something to work toward with my writing and it keeps things fresh!
