~ Quirky Question of the Month ~
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!
Have you flown Jet Blue lately? The most dangerous thing about flying is starving to death. ~
Lucinda Betts
Then they'd have to change the name of the terminal to survivable. And anyone who has every flown knows that it's just not possible to survive wandering through Ohare, for example, with your sanity intact. ~
Jade Lee
Yeah, good question -- when you find this one out, let us all know. ~
Karen Kay
It loses its indestructibleness at bigger sizes. If we could fly inside the box, we'd be okay. ~
Mechele Armstrong
They aren't women. Forgive them their shortcomings... ~
Maggie Nash
They could, but then they wouldn't have a use for the box. ~
Michelle M. Pillow
They do. It's called a "BOAT". Of course, it takes a bit longer to get anywhere, but you don't need a runway. ~
Sahara Kelly
The plane might be indestructible, but the people would still get squashed, so what's the point? ~
Jenna Leigh
I have wondered that same thing. ~
Savannah Black
What and take all the absolute terror out of flying? ~
Kimber Chin
The indestructible black boxes are orange (unless the plane burns and then they turn black). Can you imagine the sky full of orange planes? It would ruin a good dinner. ~
Allison Knight
Because they like the challenge of having something smaller to look for. It keeps them employed. ~
Titania Ladley
Ah, well, the expert behind me says it's not an indestructible black box. It's breakable under the right conditions. :-) ~

Can you tell us a little about Through the Veil, which will be released June 3rd?
Through the Veil is a book I've been waiting a very long time to write. It started with a bruise and probably four years passed before the book was finished.
The bruise-mine. The idea? My husband's. I'm one of those weird people that bruise for no reason. No medical reason, and very often, I can't even remember the physical reason, whether I bumped into something or what. I woke up one morning with this HUGE bruise on my leg and my husband gives me this weird look and mumbles, People are gonna think I beat you.
Then an hour later, he comes up and tells me....
You need to write a book about a woman that wakes up with bruises all the time. It's because while she's sleeping, she gets sucked into another world where there's a war going on.
I think....hmmmmm....but it took me four years to get from hmmmmmm...to actually writing the book.
The story's blurb
Found wandering in a field as a child, Lee Ross was given a name by the state and placed in a foster home–without anyone realizing she wasn’t entirely human. All her life, she’s tried to dismiss the odd dreams that have plagued her, dreams of monsters creeping through the night and a man, fighting demons by her side. But the bruises she wakes up with are all too real to ignore.
Then the man from dreams appears in the flesh. His name is Kalen and he insists that her destiny lies in his world, the world of her dreams. To save their people, he must convince Lee to give everything she knows, follow her heart and cross into the Under Realm, even though once she does, she’ll never be able to return.
Private Places, an anthology is due to be released in August. Can you tell us about your story?
It's a historical Hunters novella, about a soldier coming home to Williamsburg after the Revolutionary War ended because he has a promise to keep to a friend that died during the war. He made a promise to look after his friend's young sister but before he can make good on that promise, she tries to kill him. :) It just made things more interesting.
Where would you choose as the perfect vacation spot?
Hard choice-Alaska, Ireland, maybe. Or Scotland. Possibly Australia. I've got a lot of places I want to visit.
What is your favorite summer time activity?
Well, I really do like being able to sleep in, but it doesn't happen. I don't know-taking the kids to the amusement park and swimming, maybe.
Is there any movie that you’re really looking forward to seeing?
Indy! Trying to talk the DH into hitting the drive-in, as a matter of fact.

Coming Attractions was just released from Ellora's Cave. How did the idea for it come about?
Sahara: Nachos!!! Definitely nachos! It was over lunch in Houston at the Romantic Times Convention when we started batting this idea around. Nothing like some Tex-Mex snacks to fire up the idea furnace!!!! I was picking Scott's brains about porn movies….LOL
Scott: Porn Movies? Sheesh, she has no respect for cinematic achievements. I mean, really, seeing how those women fake those orgasms is Oscar worthy. Let's see Meryl Streep do that...then again, lets not. We always try to do something different. We were talking and I said something about porno movies and we started thinking that we haven't seen any books about them. So VOILA...
Coming Attractions.
If you had to pick one stand out moment in this story, what would it be?
Scott: This is a loaded question. Stand out and porn in the same reference. For me, the moment Toni has sex on camera for the first time and doesn't fake it and looks directly at Paul. It's a real moment where everything is so raw. Hey, I'm a guy, seeing a woman orgasm and not making that goofy face like we do is a moment to cherish.
Sahara: Hmm. I think I had the most fun writing the hot tub scene. I'm a Pisces, so give me water to play in, and I'm really happy. Give me a gorgeously decadent hot tub surrounded by flowers, steam and the sound of the ocean at night? Not to mention a really hunky and lovable hero watching me 'cos I'm naked? Well gosh - I'm grinning from ear to ear and getting into all sorts of trouble.
If you were staring in an adult movie, what would your screen name be?
Sahara: Er…you know I never thought about that. How about "Lace Tyte"? I'm seriously into corsets and period costuming, so naturally I'd demand to star in those pseudo-historical ones - lots of wigs and cleavage and massive gowns falling to the floor. LOL
Scott: Lace Tyte? Cool I'll have to talk to your hubby about that name. Hmmm, for me, Dick Long, or Peter Bigguns. Maybe Rogue Erector, Sir Lix A Lot, ya, that's it. Sir Lix A Lot. Oh heck I could do this all day. I'd want to be a director anyway.
You have the chance to become one of the magical creatures from your childhood nursery rhymes, which character would you select and why?
Scott: Fairy tales huh. Merlin the wizard would be cool. I'd have magical powers and use them to teach others. Then I'd become an advisor to King Arthur. I always liked the wizards and dragons in the fairy tales. But people killed most of the dragons and ate them in big ol BBQ's. Ask Sahara, she's the Fairy tale expert.
Sahara: Absolutely a Fairy Queen. Any of 'em. It's all about the power, baby. Not to mention the wings and the cute outfits. I want minions at my beck and call, dragonflies lined up to carry me if I get tired, a sip or two of nectar (on the rocks with a twist) just before sunset, and every mortal man helpless to resist my spells…Yeah, I could get into that in a BIG way. (I note that I have some Fae flight hours already racked up as a continuing sponsor of the Romantic Times Convention Faery Ball. Those wings aren't the easiest things to manage - especially in the ladies' room. LOL)
Your life has been chosen for a new reality series. What name do you think best suits this new show?
Sahara: "The Not-especially-desperate Middle Aged Housewife". (Thankfully, I have a rather quiet life, for the most part. The ratings would tank and I'd be cancelled after one episode. LOL)
Scott: "Looking For Lust: The Rubber Chicken Chronicles."
