Kent Solomon is a man that is used to getting what he wants. He has the proverbial Midas touch. When April Malloy walks in to his office with a proposition, he can’t help making a proposition of his own. As the game ensues between them, more than just business hangs in the balance. Who will be the winner and will each of them be able to accept the Terms of Surrender?

April Malloy has epitomized the King of Pentacles card in Kent Solomon. He is a man that is used to winning. However, the author has done well to balance his drive for success with humor and compassion. When April Malloy walks into the office, his reaction to her presence literary jumps off the pages and puts the reader on notice for the passion to come. The scenes between them are steamy and tasteful yet still leave much to the imagination. There is enough character detail to allow readers to relate to the characters’ feelings and insecurities, but the focus remains on the emerging emotions between them. This is a short story that will have you smiling at the end and hoping all the best for the King that has finally met his queen. Go see for yourself if he can convince her to accept his Terms of Surrender.
