They are a secret society, the Siri Mtu. Sara Parker is neither completely human, nor lion, but both. With her dual nature, Sara Parker has a set task before her, to protect the animals of the savannah. However, Sara has a problem; her animal nature is trying to take over. To stop the beast within from taking over completely, Sara must mate with a human. Enter Dr. Jack Wilding. He is a man of science, come to Africa on a quest to find himself within the country of his birth. Can Sara and Jack save the beasts of the savannah and still tame the beast within?

Margrett Dawson has taken an unusual subject and turned it into a story of passion and intensity. She can take humans outside of themselves and make them appreciate the beast hidden within everyone. The sexual heat, within the story, can actually be felt by the reader as Sara and Jack work their way through the problems and changes that lie ahead. The conclusion of the story leads us to believe that we haven’t seen the last of Sara and Jack, as Margrett Dawson takes us out of ourselves and into the wild savannah.
