Mythe: Vampire

Caetria didn't like vampires; she had no use for them. She had no problem telling her cousin Daklin that his friend Ronal was scum, a bottom feeder. She couldn't believe Daklin was taking that vampire into her woods, to her father the king. Little did she know how much her life is going to change with this meeting between her father, Ronal and Daklin. She is going to find that vampires aren't like she, and a lot of her people, believe they are, nor that humans are weak and useless. The war that was coming will take everyone's efforts to win. Being Ronal's guide and companion, she finds that she wants him, she doesn't want him going to anyone else for anything, she has fallen in love with him. He fills the empty places inside her. She can't go with him when he leaves, and she knows he'll have to go back to his people and his Gate or he could die.

Ronal is a Gate Keeper for his people; he's also a vampire. He knows he won't be liked by the elves, but they have to know a war is coming. Meeting Caetria, seeing how beautiful she is, he wants her even though she has made her feelings toward his kind known. He tried to ignore her, but he could feel her pull. The life he wants with her, he knows he can't have, she is heir to the throne and can't leave her people they need her. The Gate calls to him, he can't live without it or being with his people, after the war he knows he has to leave. Loving her isn't going to be enough and he can't ask her to give up her home, her people or her family for him. After they fight this war, what will happen to them? Can they find a way to be together or are they doomed?

Ms. Walker's Mythe world and all the creatures within it are fantastic; readers will want to visit it again and again. The characters are three dimensional and very believable. Fans will find themselves identifying with Caetria and Ronal. The love they come to feel for each other is all consuming and hot. This author knows what readers want and gives it to them. Ms. Walker has made a world full of magic, happiness, tragedy, and an all-powerful love. This reader has put Ms. Walker as an auto buy. This is a book that you won't want to miss.
