Calabi Chronicles: Bloodstone
Aideen Godwin’s store caters to those interested in magic and faux Wiccans. When she arrives late to the sale of the late Arch-Druid Michael Meyrick’s estate, the only thing left to purchase is a heavy chest full of unknown pieces. Inside, Aideen finds an old diary and a mysterious gem or Bloodstone. As she burns the midnight oil translating the text, Aideen finds herself connected in ways unimaginable. She is transported back into the time of the journal, by the author and owner, Cenn Cruach. It is here that Aideen learns that she is the mistress of the Bloodstone. Cenn needs the stone to save his people, and together he and Aideen work to discover the source of evil amidst them.
All too soon, Aideen finds herself back in her present time. Thinking it was all a dream, she meets Kean Toland, who is achingly familiar to her. He informs her that the crate she possesses was stolen from his family, and that she is in grave danger. There are others who are also looking for the powerful Bloodstone and are aware of Aideen’s power, even if she has not yet realized it. Now Aideen and Kean must work together to continue the past struggles around the stone, in order to secure a future for each other.
Bloodstone is absolutely riveting! Ms. Vremont’s story has all the elements of a wonderful story: mystery, magic, suspense, hot sex, love and an amazing plot. I could not put this book down! The characters absolutely leap off the page. I loved how the story was split into three different times but melded into one. Ms. Vremont showcased a wonderful tale for those who enjoy all genres of erotic romance and has penned memorable characters. Aideen’s fiercely independent spirit and open heart makes her a great main character, and I found myself eagerly keeping up with her adventures. Pick this one up if you enjoy a well-written and extremely hot read.
