When Angel Montgomery’s grandmother made a mistake with the party bookings, she didn’t think that showing up at a seven-year-old’s birthday looking like a very provocative hooker was quite the “entertainment” they had in mind. She also didn’t think the inflatable condom party favors would be appropriate either. It was a toss up over which situation embarrassed her more, tripping over her own feet and landing on top of Matt or when Matt’s nephew tried to eat the edible underwear. This party was not going at all as she planned and Angel was pretty sure that her assistant and the bachelor party across town would be yielding much of the same. At least everyone seemed to find the humor in the situation. No one blamed her, for it truly was an accident. Matt, however, seemed to take pleasure in Angel’s embarrassment and making jokes at her expense.

Matt wished he’d had a chance to apologize to Angel before she left. He hadn’t meant to make her feel uncomfortable. She had mistaken his teasing and not seen it for what it truly was, distinct interest and disappointment at not being able to get to know her better. When Matt finds one of Angel’s business cards he’s certain that the applicant he’s interviewing Monday mornings will be nothing, if not “entertaining”.

Tempted by an Angel had me laughing until I cried. As I was reading this story, I’m thinking to myself, “Oh this is bad, this is very bad.” yet I was still cracking up laughing. Selena’s Robins ability to write humor is definitely top notch. A room full of seven-year-olds and adult party favors absolutely ranks up there in the embarrassing moments. Tempted by an Angel is a very short but sweet story; and at 13 pages in length, is a fast and comical read. I hope that someday Ms. Robin’s will further develop this story because I am dying to know what happens after that Monday morning meeting. If you want a quick enjoyable read, give Tempted by an Angel and Selena’s Robins a try. I can promise you, you won’t be disappointed! 5 Angels!
