Nocturnal Urges

Isabel's lover Duane offers her a trip to Nocturnal Urges for the 'bite' as a birthday gift, a gift she finds both frightening and intriguing. The experience is supposed to be just a sexual experiment of sorts with the vampire bite only enhancing the action, but for Isabel once bitten, nothing seems the same. Her relationship with Duane seems hollow and much less fulfilling, and the vampire Ryan begins to enter her every thought and fantasy.

Returning to the club for another 'bite' is not enough for her, she finds herself wanting to be with Ryan to get to know him beyond mere sexual encounters. Ryan seems to be feeling something as well for he can't seem to stay away, even after a close call from a loss of control on his part. Danger enters the scene in the form of murder most gruesome as some of the Nocturnal customers are turning up dead from apparent vampire attacks. What choices will Isabel make as the murder count continues to rise, and the finger of suspicion points more and more towards the one she has just begun to love?

At first glance Nocturnal Urges by author Elizabeth Donald comes across as just an erotic vampire tale, which is not a bad thing... after all vampires can be pretty erotic. But take a second look and you will find there is much more to this tale than just vamps and sex. There is an against all odds deep and caring relationship found in the pages of this story. As well as a suspense filled 'whodunit' mystery woven into the already detailed storyline. The underlying theme here is that vamps are people too; and they feel the same wants, desires, jealousies and hatreds that the humans they rely on for sustenance experience. Nocturnal Urges is a hot, sexy, edge of your seat type read that will hold you captive from beginning to surprise ending.
