Turning Thirty

Sophie Wilder, manager of the Myers Art Gallery, is about to turn the big 3-0. She’s not at all prepared, but knows that her best friends Rachel and Jolie will be planning something very wild for her. She’s excited and a bit nervous about her birthday, but to her amazement, love has something even better in store for her than a birthday party. When she arrives at the art gallery, prepared to meet and greet the latest artist, she is very shocked when she sees the eye candy that is her newest client. Artist Jacob Black is known for not only his erotic art pieces, but also his erotic mind that inspires the works of art. When he sees the delectable Sophie, he has to have her. He’s never felt such an overwhelming craving for a woman and despite the fact they just met, they share a passionate clinch.

The more Jacob gets to know Sophie, the more sexually attracted he is to her, but also, he becomes more infatuated with the amazing mind she has for art. Soon Jacob wants more than a fling but Sophie is pulling away. The more possessive he gets about their relationship, the more she withdraws. When Rachel and Jolie offer Jacob some advice about why Sophie is acting this way, it blows up in his face. Has he lost Sophie for good?

This was a sweet and erotic story about the changes that can happen when you turn thirty. Though Sophie was a bit nervous about her birthday, it was meeting Jacob that really made her nervous. He’s all she ever wanted, but a horrible experience from the past threatens to ruin their tentative relationship. Though this is a short story, Sapphire Williams does a good job of exploring the growing relationship between Jacob and Sophie, and Ms. Williams also does an excellent job portraying the healing changes in Sophie. This was a quick but definitely romantic and revealing read.
