Nature of the Beast II: The Good, the Bad, and the Evil

Carol's life has not been the same since going with her company, Gentak, to a survival camp. Four years ago, at that camp she met the charming Alan, her troop's leader. She has a hazy memory of a seduction in the woods. Carol was found days later, ready to give birth! In fact, this happened to many of the women at the camp. Some women eventually killed their offspring and themselves. Others let the scientists conduct studies on the children. The main discovery was that the "children" were all borderline geniuses. Yet Carol refused to let anyone touch her daughter Alaina. As she tries to raise her intelligent daughter, she is haunted by horrible flashbacks of that time in the woods, scary visions of multiple creatures ravaging her body. It is so horrible that her doctor gives her medicine to block most of the memories out.

One day, her daughter draws a door out of sand in her sandbox. The next thing, Alan is back with a giant named Bronte. They want Alaina. Carol discovers that Alan is part guardian and part something even darker. Bronte is a full-fledged guardian send to straighten out this bizarre situation. Bronte and Alan take Carol onto a journey filled with horrors, erotic sex and dark satanic politics. The more Carol is told, the more she believes she has lost mind. Although for her daughter is very special to the underground world, they also have plans for Carol. She must believe in the love Alan has for her, and try to deal with his half brother and sister, Gavron and Iceni. In the end, danger will forever lurk around her. For in The Seven Lands of Despair and Delight, no one is safe.

First, I would like to say this story is very complex and dark. I purposely left out many situations and characters portrayed. I could never do the book justice if I were to give out too much information. It is well developed and utterly shocking in some ways. It is not for those looking for light reading material since it pushes some boundaries of sexuality. There is male on male sexual interaction, and it is not exactly done with love. In addition, Carol does go through some extreme situations. If you like books packed with bone chilling horror, various sexual situations and the concepts of good versus evil, I would highly recommend reading this book. I found this book enjoyable to read because of the story outline and the depth of the characters. I have a hunch that there might be a sequel or series coming from this book. There is much left unsaid and that intrigues me even more. Definitely two thumbs up with The Good, the Bad, and the Evil!!
