Nocturnal Urges-A More Perfect Union

Samantha Crews knows first hand what it means to be treated like a second class citizen. Even in this day and age, people still are prejudiced about vampires. She has hardly any rights and it is hard to find a job to support herself. For the longest time, she has been forced to sell bites at a hotel, Nocturnal Urges. Her job really is no different then a hooker, but she refuses to use her body sexually. Instead she uses her vampire powers of seduction and of course, her bite. She is lonely and has given up dreams on finding her prince charming. The one thing that Samantha does believe in is Danny Carton, the politician Robert Carton's son. Danny wants to improve life for Vampires. The attraction is strong between Samantha and Danny. Danny soon finds out that Samantha has a dark, dangerous vampire from her past, following them. This vampire wants Samantha and will stop at nothing to claim her. Samantha will do whatever it takes to protect Danny, but in the end it might not be enough. She may be forced one again to live life alone, in despair and lose her chance at love.

Elizabeth Donald has taken a new twist on vampire stories. As the reader, we are taken into the dark world of Samantha Crews. All she wants is to be loved for herself and live life openly like everyone else. We feel her sorrow of being cast aside as not "worthy" enough to be a part of society. When she does try to better herself, citizens do their best to hold her down. You will find yourself rooting for Samantha and Danny, hoping they can keep their love strong in a world that does not want them together. This is an exceptionally great story.
