Cass is on a mission. Having been invited to the Hunter’s Moon Ball, she sets out to have a night to remember. Little does she know, but that is exactly what she is going to get. Looking for the one who sent her the invitation - the grim reaper - her eyes run across a handsome and sexy vampire. When he tries to send her home, she does what any independent woman would do: she stays. If only she would have realized that one decision would alter her life forever. Caught in the midst of demons, she is fighting for her life. Out of nowhere, a mystery man, the very sexy vampire, appears to save her. Will Cass make it out of the party alive? Will she be saved by the vampire only to find herself in more trouble?

Ava McKnight immediately draws readers into the story with the suspense of attending a party with someone you have never met. Cass is a lovable character who just wants a night of passion and intrigue. Readers will be taken in by the descriptive writing of demons and desires in this short story. The Invitation is definitely an erotic short story that is a pleasure to read, but is not for the faint of heart. Ava McKnight has earned 4 Angels for this delicious vampire tale!
