Dangerous Chemistry

After losing her dear husband to cancer, and her job to a lawsuit, Amelia Dawson has nothing left. She packs her bags and leaves Flora Beach, Oregon, and heads to Seattle with her daughter, Katie, to start a new life. She is happy to find a job at the local bookstore. Unfortunately the man who hired her is the father of the son who sued her after her after her husband’s death. After many things begin to happen to her since losing her last job, Amelia wonders if she can trust Chris? Moreover, how can she force her heart to stop the feelings that she slowly begins to feel for this man?

Chris Brooks is not happy when he hears the woman that he sued has taken a job at his father’s bookstore. He thinks she is only using his father with her sexy con artist attitude. As a lawyer he sees this attitude with many of his clients and Anita is no exception in his book. Besides, Anita hates lawyers and has no respect for them. Chris really doesn’t trust her but there are too many things happening in their lives and the closer it draws them together, the greater his feelings grow toward her.

Dangerous Chemistry is a book that definitely lives up to its title. When you get one character that doesn’t quite trust one person and the other feels the same, you are sure to have some trouble brewing in the air. I liked the way the author brought in how Chris was concerned over his father and his business. Then the relationship that he begins with Amelia draws you into the story, as Amelia tries to learn how to trust again. The author gives them time to have a relationship that blossoms and grows. Amelia has spunk and is a super heroine with all that she has to endure in her life. The author creates a story with characters that face real problems as she instills just a touch of mystery. The plot is cleverly written and the suspense enough to pull you into the story.

Ms. Davies has written a story that not only has meaning but one that demonstrates the power of love between two people. I like the way Ms. Davis had the two questioning their motives. Amelia was curious if she was responsible for the accidents befalling her while Chris questioned his actions throughout the whole relationship. It left an air of believability that gave this story true character form. Outstanding action, soothing passion and learning to trust again makes this an entertaining read.
