In Her Sights

Caitlin Harris thought she had finally put her past behind her when she became an author until one morning she receives information that her sister, Janet, has been kidnapped by her boyfriend Jim. Caitlin is told that if she wishes to see her sister alive, she must pay the ransom and deliver it to her family’s home. She follows the orders to the letter only to discover it’s a trap and she is inside a house detonated to blow up any minute. After complete darkness fades the house, a detective approaches and tells her she is safe. Can she make him believe that her sister’s boyfriend is behind everything? Or will it all end up making her look suspicious?

When Nathan Donaldson responds to the call about a reported bomb, he is shocked to see former police sniper, Caitlin, is the victim. She is perplexed and scared when he arrives. He believes her actions to be genuine and will do all that he can to protect her. When she starts telling him about the kidnapping and everything, he finds it hard to believe that her sister’s boyfriend would try to kill her. When evidence begins to point to Caitlin, Nathan is not only torn between her innocence but wishes to get closer to her for personal reasons. Can he find the real suspect before time runs out?

In Her Sights is a cleverly written suspense that grabs your attention and holds you glued to the seat. It has so many twists and turns that you will want to take this ride twice. We have Nathan concerned for Caitlin’s life, yet clues begin to mark her as a suspect. Nathan knows that someone is out to harm her so he hides her in his home. Naturally there is going to be some heated excitement between them while in the close proximity as they continue to investigate. Thus you have the makings of an excellent novel that has you caught up with action and intrigue at every corner. In Her Sights is a book that delivers and captivates the reader. Jennifer Cloud weaves a thrilling story like a spider spinning its web. She hooked me immediately. Ms. Cloud does not disappoint her readers!
