Shadowed Legacy
This is the second version of Shadowed Legacy. Lora Leigh has reworked and edited it for republication. This book definitely needs to be read after Shattered Legacy which can be found at Ellora’s Cave. If you have not read it, please stop reading this review.
Devlin has spent centuries alone, with fleeting memories of happiness. As an immortal warrior he has seen his friends and associates reborn time after time. Surrounded only by his men, Devlin is a wounded warrior who has forgotten how to laugh and truly live.
When Chantel went in search of the Earth Crystal she never expected to be captured and tortured into admitting that she’s someone she’s not. After being betrayed by the man she calls Father, she knows that she can only depend on herself to get free. With luck and skill on her side she does escape, only to be taken by a group of hard men with the intent to get her out of the desert town she’s in and to safety. When she comes face to face with the leader of the men, she finds the man of her dreams, literally. She’s been dreaming about Devlin and apparently he’s shared the same dreams.
Chantel and Devlin fight against a common foe, in Jonar, and a magic spell that has robbed them of their memories. Can love triumph?
In Shadowed Legacy we met Chantel and her sisters, as well as Devlin and his men. In Shadowed Legacy the Shadow (Devlin) and the Earth Mistress (Chantel) reunite. I was so excited to get to read this book. Yet again Ms. Leigh grabs you and won’t let you go with this book. I cried so often during this book that my husband finally gave up asking me what was wrong. Chantel had so much to get through and did it so well in both books. Devlin was a compelling man and made me hope for him throughout. I am looking forward to the rest in this series and am especially waiting for Joshua’s story. I will continue to read these over and over because of the powerful stories behind these fabulous characters.
