When Morgan Field agreed to be executor of her friend’s estate, she had no idea he would die within months and leave her to inform his son, Joshua. Certainly hiking up to a remote cabin in a business suit wasn’t what she’d had in mind! Her irritation is forgotten when she meets Joshua. Stepping into Josh’s cabin is like stepping into her recurring dream. She instantly feels a sense of belonging and a powerful attraction to the sensitive, sexy man. Since it is late, Josh convinces Morgan to spend the night in his cabin. Little does she know that tonight her dreams will come true…

And There Were Beasts is terrific. Everything, from the cover to the expressive prose, was enjoyable. Ms. Mason has achieved the difficult feat of writing a short story with enough background and character development to be thoroughly satisfying to the reader.

Morgan is a woman who has pushed her inner desires to the back of her mind. When she finally sets them free with Joshua, it’s like a spark in a dry forest. The pair burn up the pages with animalistic passion.

Although And There Were Beasts is one of Venus Press’ “All Hallow's Eve” series, this is one shapeshifter tale I expect to be around long after the Halloween candy is gone! I’ve got my fingers crossed that this is the first of many sexy beasts for Jude Mason.
