Hostage Moon
It is Laird Ian McCray’s duty to avenge the false arrest of his uncle. After finding out the man responsible has a future bride locked away in a tower, Ian decides kidnapping her will be fitting revenge.
After being snatched from her bed, Lady Leanna Arlington finds herself riding on horseback, on the lap of a very handsome Scotsman. Although she doesn’t know what her captor plans for her, she’s glad to be free of her vile future husband, Baron Dartmus Frankton. Deciding her best recourse is to ruin herself, she offers her body to the handsome Laird who captured her.
It’s an offer Ian can’t resist. He soon realizes that he feels more than just lust for Leanna. He certainly can’t turn her back over to the Baron, but can the beautiful Englishwoman be anything more than a pleasant diversion to a Scottish Laird with the responsibility of an entire clan on his shoulders?
Hostage Moon is a very romantic love story. The feelings between Leanna and Ian are more significant than their physical relationship, but WOW, what a physical relationship! Along with beautiful prose, Ms. Wildes has incorporated some very erotic love scenes. There is a nice balance between sex and plot. The only thing that kept Hostage Moon from a perfect rating was a scene near the end that I felt was out of character and seemingly served only to boost the heat rating. That said, I would very highly recommend Hostage Moon to readers who love a great historical romance with an erotic edge. This is one of the best I’ve read in a long time! According to Ms. Wildes' website, there are several more books in the works. I will be the first in line to sample them.
