Scarecrow & Betsy McGee: Triple D

Betsy McGee, forty-year-old divorcee, is ready to tackle the dating world. She’s spending her weekend at the Triple D Ranch and Spa, the hippest place for other divorcees to get their feet wet and play the dating game. Regaining her freedom and building up her confidence, Betsy is ready to take on a certain eye-candy waiter. But Roarke Mathews, code name Scarecrow, has been on assignment posing as a waiter for the Triple D Ranch and Spa in order to take down the manager, Danny Deveaux. His assignment is to catch Danny in the midst of receiving the diamonds, then call in for backup. Nowhere in Roarke’s plan included an attractive, intelligent, and curvaceous woman who makes him forget why he’s really on this assignment.

Triple D is the first installment of the Scarecrow & Betsy McGee series. It’s funny, sensual, fast paced, and an entertaining romantic short story. Betsy is ready to live her life after divorcing her cheating husband and taking charge of her life. What Betsy didn’t expect is a high flying adventure weekend with a gorgeous secret agent. Roarke has been working on this assignment for twelve weeks. This assignment was supposed to be simple, catch the bad guy with the goods and call in for back up. He didn’t expect his attraction for Betsy to be incorporated into his assignment and her saving his butt. Their chemistry starts off physical and eventually grows into something more. The journey they go through gives them an opportunity to discover each other’s personality and their mutual attraction. The storyline offers an adventurous plot, comical situations, and sultry interludes. I really enjoyed Betsy’s character. She’s sassy, spunky and can kick ass even though she’s not a super spy herself. I’m a very big fan of “to be continued…” stories and I am eagerly waiting to read the second installment, Mattress Games. A tasty introduction to this series. More please Ms. Stilletto!
