In Too Deep
Winslow Talbot’s life is in danger from someone who wants to shut her up, permanently.
Winslow Talbot is a writer for a society magazine that steps in to help a young Cuban girl who was disfigured in a hit-and-run boating accident. Winslow knows what an injury like that can do to a person’s life since she was also disfigured when she was a young girl and went through the windshield after a car accident where her father was killed. While trying to find her stepsister Ashlyn, who was hiding from her fiancé, Winslow runs into Alex Díaz, a reporter who knew the Cuban girls family and would be able to help her look into the story by giving her information. Soon, Winslow discovers startling information that her soon to be brother-in-law may be behind the boating accident and she will do anything possible to prove who was behind it and get justice for the young girl.
Winslow is soon embroiled in the investigation and finds herself alone. Her stepfather Grant and Ashlyn both believe that she is only out to get Jayce due to the fact she is jealous of him and Ashlyn getting married. Alex is trying to help Winslow in her investigation and to keep her safe, but with their relationship growing closer and her lying to him, it is hard on both of them. Can Winslow learn to open up to Alex and let him see her real self? Will Winslow ever be able to solve the boating mystery and put her family back together? Will their relationship be fractured by the danger around them?
In Too Deep is a passionate and adventurous journey through lies, betrayal, and loss. This suspenseful tale kept me on my toes and had me wanting to shout out at the characters, and I find that any book that can bring out that strong of a reaction is a top rated book worthy of reading. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Alex and Winslow develop and thought that the family dynamics added a touch of realism to the book. I found In Too Deep to be a fantastic story to curl up with and would highly recommend it to any readers looking for a great suspense that will keep you turning the pages with intense characters and a gritty story line.
