Once in a Blue Moon

After working at the hair salon all day, Betti Blanchard runs into her old friend from school, Tim, when she stops in at the Bluebonnet Dancehall to hear the band play. Tim tells her about his brother Ty Boudreaux’s divorce being final and how Ty needs some cheering up and a good woman to restore his faith in womankind. Betti has been in love with Ty since the sixth grade, when he saved her from some boys at a school dance, but back then, he only had eyes for Rhea Carmichael, the woman he recently divorced. When Ty has had enough of the Dancehall and needs to leave, Betti gives him a ride back to her house where they spend the night together and Betti discovers more about Ty’s disastrous marriage.

Later, Betti discovers that she is pregnant from her and Ty’s one night together and Ty proposes marriage. Betti loves Ty and wants them both to parent their child, therefore she agrees to marry him. After deciding that they will both try hard to have a real marriage, Betti starts having problems with her younger sister and Ty’s family becoming very protective of Ty. When they warn her against hurting him, Betti begins to wonder what Ty has not told her about his previous marriage to Rhea.

Can Betti and Ty make their marriage work or will their problems and his secrets tear them apart?

Once in a Blue Moon is set in a small town that captures all the uniqueness and eccentricity that goes along with every small town. It is an emotionally intense roller-coaster ride through the lives of Betti and Ty and their families. This story has many fascinating characters, too numerous to mention, whom give it a life-like feeling and pulls you right into their lives. I thought the characters were written in such a smooth and true to life fashion that readers will be able to identify with them and take pleasure from it even more. The romance in Once in a Blue Moon was H-O-T!

This is the first story I have read from Celia Stuart and I absolutely love it. I have already added her to my must read authors list and will be eagerly awaiting her next story. I encourage all readers to pick up Once in a Blue Moon!
