Death by Delilah

Delilah Mills wonders if moving in with her best friend and her best friend’s brother is a big mistake. She has had a thing for Joshua Sparks for as long as she can remember and doubts that he sees her as more than his sister’s friend. Plus they are both in the Navy – he is an officer, she is enlisted – and they are not to fraternize. There is the added bonus of her grandmother’s ghost buzzing around. But Delilah wants Joshua and is willing to do whatever it takes to have him.

Joshua Sparks has hidden his desire for Delilah for a long time. First, it was because she was his kid sister’s best friend. Now it is because he is an officer and she is enlisted. But how can he hide how he feels when they will be living in the same house? Delilah is too much of a temptation to resist. As they spend more time together, Joshua realizes that this is the woman he wants for keeps. Fraternization between officers and enlistees is looked down upon and discovery of their relationship may get one of them transferred.

This charming story will have the reader wanting more. Delilah and Joshua are both strong individuals who have hidden their feelings for too long. As they give in to temptation, their physical relationship is balanced by the emotional connection they have had for so long. Delilah’s grandmother is laugh-out-loud fun as she tries to push the two together. I enjoyed that both Delilah and Joshua were aware of the risks that their relationship would have on their jobs but decided that love was more important.
