Elmwood – Tarot: Page of Swords

Pat Cahill has had enough of her groping, over-sexed supervisor. The man won’t seem to take no for an answer. His latest attempt to woo her is failing miserably, yet he won’t let her go. Just as she is starting to get concerned that perhaps this one time she is in over her head, Maximilian Hanna, the sinfully handsome owner of Cavern Lake Park, saves her. The intro to Elmwood – Tarot: Page of Swords will immediately capture reader’s attention. Ms. Starr has created a character that is the embodiment of true male ignorance. The antics of Pat’s supervisor are laughable given his piggish description and chauvinistic attitude, yet his actions also display an attitude that all women would be leery of encountering. Maxise ultimately wants the same thing from Pat as her supervisor, but his desires are tastefully presented. Evelyn Starr aptly captures a building desire and chemistry between these two characters. Pat starts to believe that maybe dreams and passion do come true. Maxsie has a commanding presence and his sensuality drips from the pages. The scenes between them show that despite the reality of the world around them, they may have found something truly magical. That is, if they are given time to explore it. Evelyn offers readers a quick read with spurts of humor and seriousness, but most importantly, an interlude to slow, heated passion.
