Iliana is a Trancer, or at least she was until an event in her past locked her powers away. Her powers are still there, hidden within her mind, but she is unable to use them. A Trancer who can't call upon the currents of her world, defenseless, useless.

Lore is a Warrior. Iliana's self-appointed protector. He sees within her a deep pain, which seems unable to heal. When word is received that their enemy, Medea seeks to unearth the legendary Orb, he reluctantly volunteers to pursue the Orb. He feels this is a fool's quest that will surely see him dead, but he knows if Medea succeeds it will be the end of his world.

Iliana has the same vision, the quest must succeed or all that she loves will perish. Within her, she knows that this undertaking will only fail if a Trancer is not sent. Despite her lack of powers, she knows she is the only choice to accompany Lore. Subdued and with some trepidation, these two heroes set out to achieve what no other before them has. As the sun rises and sets, will they reach their goal in time?

Superb! The Seeker is a definite must read for fans of epic tales. Readers will be transported to a new and exciting place as Ms. McClellan brings to life a world that is steeped in tradition and culture. The descriptions and settings within the story are well done. As these two start on their journey, the author makes sure the reader is right there with them. Iliana is a wonderful heroine. She is her harshest critic and fails to see the beauty and worth inherent within herself. Lore sees this and the manner in which he offers support and guidance will capture readers' attention as they wait to see how these two come to terms with each other. The trials they must endure are well planned and unique. As the quest intensifies, the emotion displayed is heartening and believable. These are two characters that will stay in your memory long after the book has been read. The Seeker is the second offering by the author about this fantastic world. It is exceptional and can be read by itself, but if this work is any indication of Ms. McClellan's talent you will definitely want to read the first book, The Giver. Sharron McClellan demonstrates a wonderful gift with her words and style. She has balanced the pacing of the plot with ease. There are moments of heartache, love, and danger that flow seamlessly through the storyline to combine into a wonderful, completely satisfying experience. One can only hope that there will be a third book.
