Dragon’s Son Lord of Wind and Fire, Book III

In Elaine Corvidae’s, Dragon’s Son, Suchen, devoid of hope, flees Segg with Auglar and their companions.

In the forest, a lone wolf and little girl struggle to stay alive, while Jenel’s army devastates the countryside allegedly to safeguard Jenel. Who is this lone wolf? Where did the little girl come from? Elaine Corvidae powerfully encapsulates the ruin and horror of war on the old and young.

Kellsjard is everyone’s destination and hope, but first they must cross the Kellsmarch and outlive two opposing armies. Overwhelmed by anguish and remorse, Suchen dreads the future and has no wish to live without Yozerf. The Dragon’s Son weaves a saga of liberation and optimism despite the apparent bleakness of the situation.

Elaine Corvidae adroitly depicts the callousness and coldness with which kings and emperors fight. King Fellant’s soldiers destroy and kill as many innocent Jenelise as Argannon’s army. The Dragon’s Son unites terrified, lost, and weary humans, Aclytes, and Wolfkin.

The future and salvation of Jenel may be found in an army of refugees lead by an Aclyte with an unerring honor and desire to protect the innocent. Elaine Corvidae suspense fully draws together Suchen and Yozerf’s story with a dramatic and emotionally beautiful climax.

I could not stop reading Dragon’s Son. Elaine Corvidae’s gift of capturing the “human spirit” and portraying it in a tale of betrayal, grief, love, and hope is a rare and lovely gift. I hope that she will write of Caden and the Circle Kingdoms again.
