After Chase's wife dies from cancer, he lost it all: the Pro Golf Tour, his sponsors, and Jake, and his agent. Now he wanted to come back but no one would take a chance on him, until Trip, Tank, Dick and Satch. The guys from Trubird Clubs needed him to promote their clubs. They had tried getting pros to endorse the clubs, but One Sport had put the word out that to use the clubs or to talk to Trubird would mean that you'd never play pro golf again.

One Sport doesn't want the competition, so they start a campaign to stop Trubird and Chase. A woman who looks like Chase's dead wife shows up at the golf tournament that Chase is playing in order to break his concentration. His mother's mortgage comes due on her home, his son goes missing for a few hours, all to rattle Chase's nerves so he'll lose, on top of that his girlfriend Jana has been taken to the hospital after collapsing on the golf course. After his putter goes missing, Trip, one of the share holders of Trubird is offered to be bought out and he goes for it, leaving Tank, Dick and Chase out in the cold. Jake has to make sure that neither Trubird clubs hit the market nor that Chase makes a come back. He'll do anything to make sure that doesn't happen.

Ms. Webber's first novel is one you don't want to miss. She has written a story around golf that isn't off putting for readers who aren't interested in golf. You're reading about a man who is able to find what means the most to him and the road he takes to get there. The characters are entertaining and you want the bad guys to lose and get caught.
