True Nature

Kailen James was having dreams that she didn't remember when she awoke, seizures that the doctors couldn't explain even after all the testing. She decided to start looking for her own answers in chat rooms and on the internet. When she's gone through all the hoaxes, she comes to one that only says "Find Mona." Now she's in New Orleans looking for those answers.

Marc came to her to show her the way to Mona. He didn't want to, but he owed Mona. Nor did he want to start feeling anything towards Kailen. By the time they reached Mona, he wanted her for himself, but he'd have to deal with Raven, and she wanted Marc for herself. Raven decided that she'd teach Kailen what she wanted her to know and get her away from Marc before he knew how powerful Kailen really was. So she takes Kailen to Lucas. After seeing Kailen, he wants her for her innocence and the strength he sees in her. She feels there is something wrong and wants to leave, but Lucas has clouded her mind and asks her to stay until after the party he has set up in her honor. She doesn't understand what kind of people they are, but Raven does and wants Kailen out of the way before Marc can find her. Marc has found their trail and starts following, he can smell the delight that Kailen has found in the run. Can Marc find her before Lucas makes her his own? Ms. Bailee has written a novel that captures you from the start and keeps you immersed until the last page is read. She has built a world of shapeshifters that you're so engrossed in that it's a shock when you're done reading. The fight scenes that the author writes about are very intense. You feel the turmoil of the characters, when they are fighting within themselves. Also when Marc is impatient to get on the trail of Kailen, you sense the deep love he has for her. I'll be looking for more of her work.
