For The Love Of Jazz
Shiloh Walker deviates from her accustomed erotic romance books, and takes readers on a journey of romantic suspense; and let me tell you, what a ride! Jazz is the type of man that our mother’s used to warn us about. He’s sexy as sin, dangerous according to the town’s people, and living with an ache in his heart Jazz doesn’t think will ever heal.
Jazz has been muddling through his decision to come back home to face his past. He’d been doing pretty well until he ran into Dr. Anne-Marie Kincaid, sweet little Annie, his best friend’s sister. Jazz can’t understand why she doesn’t hate him; it would almost be easier for him if she did. How is he ever supposed to face the father and sister of the boy he killed?
Annie could never hate Jazz, even though everyone said he was at fault for her brother’s death. Hating him would be like hating herself. How do you hate the person you’ve loved almost all of your life? Annie never believed that Jazz was responsible for her brother’s dead. No matter what she’d been told, no matter what the police reports said, something just never seemed quite right. When Annie starts digging into the past, people start dying, starting with her father. Fortunately her father doesn’t die, but someone has gone to a lot of trouble to frame Jazz for attempted murder. Since she was in Jazz’s bed, Annie knows he’s not guilty, but they have yet to learn why someone wants him guilty of murder.
For The Love Of Jazz is an exhilarating book from beginning to end. Readers will not be able to ignore Jazz’s internal struggle. Shiloh Walker has written his story with such raw and intense emotions. Jazz believes himself responsible for the death of his best friend, who also happens to be the brother of the woman he has loved all his life. Just that part of the story is enough to bring tears to reader’s eyes. Add to that, the relationship that Jazz had with Annie’s father and then the loss of that relationship, For The Love Of Jazz is an extremely touching story. For The Love Of Jazz is Ms. Walker’s first go round with romantic suspense. I personally feel that she did exceptional in this endeavor. Shiloh keeps the mystery of “who-dun-it” right up until the very end. Every time you think you know who’s responsible, you’re wrong. In true Shiloh Walker fashion, Jazz and Annie are hot! Not only do they sizzle in the bedroom, it’s obvious the love and need these two characters have for one another. Great job Shiloh!!! I can’t wait for another book like For The Love Of Jazz.
