Shelbys Angels: <title>Jean-When Irish Eyes Are Dying

Shelby is The Handler for eight men, all men who make their living from their looks in modeling. Once their looks go, they will have another trade (private investigating) on which to rely. The plot in this book centers on a series of murders that were committed against the male models who were hired by the Irish Eyes Conglomerate to be the advertising face of their new line of makeup. Who better to solve this crime than Shelby’s Angels?

Angels Blain, Adan, and Raidon go in undercover, backed up by Shen and Delsin as backstage support personnel. Back at the office, Rika and Nalu search for clues on the Internet, while William takes care of Shelby! Can they find the murderer before Blain becomes dead model number four? The men take time out for commentary on the makeup of the newswoman who reports on the third murder (my dear, red lipstick and blue eye shadow! – it just isn’t done!) and always make sure to look their best while investigating the murders.

This book is a romp in the style of Charlie’s Angels. The Angels, all gorgeous men in their prime, are extremely self-absorbed and quite fey, except, of course, for William, who, although not fey, is also self-absorbed. In addition, they are not geniuses except in the areas of personal maintenance and dress. I thought it was very funny in a light, tongue-in-cheek way, and the dialogue is spiced with frequent double entendres. There are at least three very steamy, very explicit male/female sex scenes, one flashback ménage sex scene that includes both male/female and male/male encounters, and a lot of sexual innuendo throughout the book. This is a quick read, and I enjoyed a good laugh while reading about the Angels’ antics.
