Desperate Measures

Desperate Measures is the story of Tori, one of seven little girls abducted from Earth by an alien and race and implanted with a trigger the aliens can use to conquer the Earth. Astoria Blair has no idea what was done to her as a child, except that she had genetic changes made to her body. Well that and the small fact that the people who had made these changes tried to turn her into an assassin. Rejecting that idea and running away led to her use her abilities to become a master thief; one of the best, if not the best around. Then a job that seems too easy to accomplish and pays too well to pass on leads her to a mysterious orb, which only she can activate. It also leads to more trouble than she ever counted on, danger comes from many directions and Tori does not know who to trust. That is where Marcos Devante enters the picture. He he seems to know when to rescue her even before she needs help. But can she trust him, even with her heart? Marcos has his own agenda for tracking Tori, but what happens when his reasons for wanting to save her turn personal?

This work is the third in the Operation Pleiades series of tales each created by different authors, and Desperate Measures lives up to its predecessors. Nonstop action and thrills, interesting plotting and memorable characters make for a great read. Tori is a perfect heroine, strong, tough, self sufficient, and willing to risk herself for those who matter most. Marcos is rich, forceful, mysterious and powerful, not to mention drop dead gorgeous the perfect counterpart to the willful Tori. Together their passion and bravery give them the means to overcome insurmountable obstacles destined to keep them apart. The tale of the third Pleiades sister is a definite keeper.
