Heart First

A woman's biological clock is too powerful to ignore. Kylie Hutton is feeling hers like a ticking time bomb. Turning thirty-two sends her clock into a panic. Kylie doesn't need a man to make her happy; she just really, really wants one. The prospects she has to pick from in Geneva, Tennessee are pretty slim. Add to that fact, she's considered somewhat of a local celebrity as a newscaster, and you have the whole of Geneva involved in her love life, or lack there of. Kylie lets her best friend and co-anchor Neil coerce her into seeing a psychic. Madam Elle saw in Kylie's future a tall dark and handsome man, with a hint of danger. Not ten minutes later, Kylie steps into traffic, nearly being hit by the very same man Madame Elle had described.

Joseph Andrew MacKinsey (Mac) is way overdue on a job his construction company is building; he doesn't have time to listen to his mother's dream of him meeting his future wife. The only blonde he knows is his secretary, so he's not worried that he will be strapping on the old ball and chain anytime soon. That is...until he almost runs over a distracted blonde in the middle of the street.

With a quirky circle of friends and family, these two shouldn't take too long to fall in love...they wouldn't dare. The only problem they have is that they think too much, with love you have to jump in Heart First. Ms. Whitmire gives a delicious blend of off the wall humor and romance. Heart First had me laughing, sighing, and even crying a bit. This is an excellent book. I intend to keep tabs on Ms. Whitmire's future works. She has definitely given us a keeper.
