Karola\'s Hunt

Karola, daughter of Diana; mythical Goddess of the Hunt, had been raised more by Dryads and Kelpies than her mother. She had never seen a creature like herself, who walked upright. He was similar, but not the same. Her curves were matched by sharp planes and muscles on the mysterious stranger that she happened upon in the forest.

Karola and Damien frolic in the forest together testing their skills, while he is the faster runner she is the better archer. They stop to rest in a patch of shade. Here Damien teaches Karola the pleasures of the flesh.

Karola fears for Damien's life when he explains that his village is going to war with another village soon. With a lock of Karola's hair as a token of luck Damien set's off, back to his village to fulfill his duties. Both hoping that this will not be the last they touch or gaze into one another's eyes.

Ms. O'Dare has written a beautiful story of an innocent who learns about love and life at the hands of an enchanted beaux. Set in a mythological world of fantasy, Karola's Hunt is a magical journey through the land of Kelpie and Dryad, goddess and human. I hope to see Karola and Damien's continued journey in later books. Excellent book!
